Technology in our society has changed rapidly in recent years. Concepts such as Big Data, Internet of Things, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Blockchain, Bitcoins and all kinds of “smart” applications, including Smart City Projects, control the debates at technology events and conferences.
This technological evolution, according to some even revolution, poses a lot of legal challenges and Sirius Legal, as a technology-driven law firm, fully focuses on supporting companies and entrepreneurs in all legal aspects of their innovative projects and applications.
Sirius Legal in AI
Sirius Legal has a multidisciplinary group of professionals with years of experience and extensive expertise in legal advice in the broad internet and technology world. We assist clients who are active in software development, app development, web building, IT consultancy and online marketing. Our team is considered to be one of the most prestigious and respected in the market and we are a permanent partner of trade unions such as the Federation of Web Builders (Feweb), e-commerce sector federation SafeShops.be and the Belgian Association for Marketing BAM.
Our sector knowledge, combined with our very specific legal know-how in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, enables us to assist you with appropriate prior advice in contract negotiations and deals and in litigation.
We truly invest in the matter
At Sirius Legal we invest a lot of our time in AI and other new fields such as Smart City projects, IoT or blockchain and cryptocurrency applications. For example, in recent months Bart Van den Brande has followed intensive training in “Law, cognitive technologies and artificial intelligence” at the Brussels School of Competition.
Our investment also pays. For example, Bart Van den Brande has just been accepted for Sirius Legal as a member of the European AI Alliance. The European AI Alliance is a think tank and consultation platform for specialists from all over the EU, where they can enter into discussions with the European Commission about the future of artificial intelligence in Europe.
Among the members we find all the leading universities, citizen movements, trade unions and some specialized law firms from all over Europe. At the same time, Sirius Legal also became the only Belgian law firm to become a member of the Dutch Association for Artificial Intelligence and Robot Law, where we are once again in the company of representatives from Dutch and Flemish universities and a number of truly specialized Dutch law firms.
All this comes just a few weeks after Bart Van den Brande and Dirk Bogaerts were already appointed as arbitrators in the first blockchain dispute-focused arbitration room in Europe, the Polish Blockchain and New Technology Chamber of Commerce, based in Warsaw.
If we delve into a matter at Sirius Legal, we really mean it in other words …
