Smart Cities, AI and Blockchain

Technological revolution

Technology in our society has changed rapidly the last few years. Concepts such as Big Data, Internet of Things, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Blockchain, Bitcoins and all kinds of smart applications, including Smart City Projects, control the debates at technology events and conferences.

This technological evolution, or according to some, even revolution, creates a lot of legal challenges and Sirius Legal, as a technology-driven law firm, fully focuses on supporting companies and entrepreneurs in all legal aspects of their innovative projects and applications.

Smart Cities

The shift to a “smart city” society model is one of the biggest challenges our cities are facing in the 21st century. Cities must be able to take advantage of the opportunities that technology offers them, so that they are equipped to meet the challenges of the future and offer innovative and efficient solutions to the growing needs of their citizens and businesses in the areas of infrastructure, transport, consumer goods, water and power supply, communication, health and education.

Sirius Legal has been focusing specifically on Smart City projects for several years. In 2016, we co-founded an international collective of law firms in Europe that specifically focuses on supporting and assisting companies and governments around the world in Smart City projects.
Bart Van den Brande is for Sirius Legal Member of the Board of Smart Cities Law Firms. Bart also obtained a Smart City Law certificate in 2016 at the renowned EADA Business School in Barcelona.
